Coupe

“The cars we drive say a lot about us.” —Alexandra Paul

A coupé or coupe is a passenger car with a sloping or truncated rear roofline and two or three doors. Coupé was first applied to horse-drawn carriages for two passengers without rear-facing seats. The term coupé comes from the French translation of “cut”.

This term refers to cars that have a sleek, sloping roofline, two doors, and two functional seats up front, plus two tiny seats in back. More recently, auto manufacturers started to apply the coupe definition to the sporty variants of their sedan lineup.
